Jennifer Tasca, MSRD, is a native Santa Barbaran who has practiced as a local Registered Dietitian for over 20 years. After graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in Nutritional Science, she went on to complete a dietetic internship at Loma Linda University, a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of New Haven, and ultimately earned her dietetic licensing. She worked locally as a clinical dietitian for the Cottage Health Care System for over 10 years, and then started her own private practice (parttime) in 2005. Being a mother of three daughters, she has loved the flexibility and challenges involved in private practice, primarily working with people on weight loss, sports nutrition, and diabetes. She specializes in diets for hormonal control, hashimotos, and food intolerances. Nutrition is a constantly evolving science and she enjoys making it accessible to her clients so they can meet their health, weight, and performance goals.
My approach with clients: I create a personalized meal plan and then follow my clients through the entire implementation process by educating them on eating out, shopping at local stores and also methods to tackle social eating and stress eating. I strive to familiarize clients with nutrition in a way that is less about a structured diet and more about finding balance to create and foster a healthy relationship with food and the body.
I personally believe in consuming a whole foods diet that is nutrient dense and delicious. Your lifestyle and taste buds should not suffer while being healthconscious. The journey to a healthy lifestyle starts with a great mindset. My goal is to empower my clients with the knowledge and strength to tackle any nutrition goal.
