Recipe: Crunchy Slaw w/ Tangy Cilantro Dressing - Perfect for a 4th of July BBQ!

4th of July a.k.a. America's Independence Day a.k.a. one of the best days of the year to get family and friends together for a summer BBQ!


Generally speaking, every 4th of July BBQs consist of your traditional foods - burgers, hotdogs and probably a garden salad. Maybe some chicken or steaks, but that's about it right? This year, why not change it up with something that looks delicious to the eye but tastes even better?


"SBNutritionGeekSlaw" is a crunchy coleslaw with a tangy cilantro dressing that is sure to make all of your friends jealous that they didn't think of it first! It's the perfect dish to compliment the heat of 4th of July's summer sun. Plus, it's bound to spice up your friends/family's traditional 4th of July menu and make you look like the cooking master!

Ingredients:

• 6 c shredded cabbage • 1 carrot spiralized (yes, that's a word) • 1 avocado, diced • 3 T olive oil + 3 T lime • 1/4 C sliced green onion • 1/2 C hemp seeds • 6 T chopped cilantro • Himalayan salt to taste

• optional: BBQ salmon and flake into slaw
